How do you transform your neighborhood dollar dumpling store into a restaurant optimized for franchising? That is the question which I explored. My concept takes a brand-less yet beloved dumpling dive and reimagines it’s legacy as a rebranded, widespread chain.
I address numerous problems which the restaurant has faced. One of which is bowl theft. In order to reduce the theft of bowls, I created a unique dumpling bowl which can only be used in the restaurant, fitting into the deep notches of the table surfaces. This may seem like an excessive solution, but it adds a unique brand asset to the concept while still being fun and functional. An easy to read and beautiful menu clearly displays all menu offerings without confusion. This is no longer a dingy dumpling dungeon, as modern interiors attract a wide range of new locals.
